The late Dr. Carl Fuhrman was honored by the Pitt School of Medicine student body with the Clinical Educator of the Year Award. The award recognizes faculty who consistently provide outstanding clinical education in elective courses for University of Pittsburgh School medical students. Dr. Fuhrman was passionate about teaching and learning and the award embodies the spirit of who he was and what he meant to the department, the School of Medicine, and the health system. In addition, the award will be renamed for Dr. Fuhrman's--The Carl R. Fuhrman Clinical Educator of the Year Award--to honor his legacy and contributions and to continue to inspire and recognize the excellent educators here at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
