The Department of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh has a strong research program that encompasses both basic and clinical research. We are currently ranked 11th among diagnostic radiology departments with over $10 million in NIH funding. Our research divisions include: MR Research Center, CT/PET Research Facility, the Neuroimaging Laboratory, the Imaging Research Group, the Imaging Biomarker Lab, and the newly formed Molecular Imaging Research Group. Top researchers have recently been recruited to establish a new Optical Imaging Program, which will bring a new dimension to our program. Research is also performed across all eight of our clinical divisions.
